Your website design should be reasonably impacting and if you really want to impress your main target audience, then commissioning premium graphic designs and/or icons for your website should be forfront in your planning . This article will address methods in which you can outsource your graphic design work and more than likely receive premium results without neccesarily having to pay a fortune.

Don’t forget the Copyright Factor: One of the many issues that web owners face when they outsource their graphic design work is the copyright issue. If this isn’t researched and properly understood ahead of time, it can make matters more than a tad complicated in the future. You should always go out of your way to ensure that the copyright/all rights to use all of the designed graphics are belong to you without question, upon the payment. Some websites like Elance.com and other major freelance services will have this issue covered in the standard contracts that are used, so you don’t have to worry about this when using them.

However, when you’re doing your outsourcing directly as opposed to emplying a local graphic design expert, this is when you are most at risk. Remember, people in different countries may not have the same ethics as you or even understanding of general copyright issues, which is why it’s dangerous to assume that they are on the same page as you.

File Size and Dimensions: Before you outsource your graphic design, figure out if the finished product will be utilized on your personal website. Depending on the decision that you make, you might discover that you should limit the size of the file. If the graphic design is going to be used universally, then it’s okay not to restrict it. In relation to your graphic sizes and dimensions, be certain that the right ones have been calculated. What should be the pixel sizes for your graphics? Look at this in advance so that you can give your designer the correct dimensions.

Seek to Create Long Term Relationships: The process of finding a good designer to outsource your work may prove to be time consuming and an arduous process. For this reason, the ideal situation is to have a graphic designer you can build a relationship with over time. Rather than contacting a different freelancer every time you need one, try to find one who’s reliable, reasonable and does great work and keep using them. This will not only save you time, but in the long run it will also save you money.

If you want your graphic designing investment to pay off, then you will have to invest some time in patiently looking for good graphic designers to outsource. Then do not hesitate to explain what you expect from them.

Of course the bueaty of using local graphic design companies is that they generally work the same hours as you, so bear this in mind before placing an order with an overseas designer.

The old days when it was extremely simple getting traffic are gone forever, and while it’s not hard it is getting more difficult because so many people are crowding the online space. But then again, you do have paid advertising options like Facebook advertising that make life a lot easier. Yes, Facebook has still yet to reach its prime, but very many online marketers and businesses are using it with gusto. Solid and proven Facebook advertising tips are what’s in store for you in the balance of this article.

You should work on monitoring your ad campaigns on Facebook carefully. One thing that everyone experiences when they begin advertising on Facebook is that the response dwindles over time. Why does this occur? This is because the amount that you incur to correspond with Facebook users continues to go up over time. Basically, this means that the people who click on the ad at first will click on most of the ads. So once you go through the first group, the second group will cost more.

This is why you should follow the click through rate of your ad on a continual basis. Determine how your ad’s click through rate performs. When you notice that your ad is going down, either adjust your ad or change your targeted audience. Truthfully, every ad has a lifespan and after this lifespan, they are not effective. So to get more from this life span and get more out of your ads and lower your budget, this particular step is very important.

Naturally, ad copy plays a huge role with any advertisement, and that is one thing you must test. You need to be able to write ad copy that hits the right triggers and buttons. Make your ads distinguishing from the other ads in your market. Ask questions in your title or use testimonials from other people who have tried out your product. Give people directions for what you want them to do.

Copy that contains a clear and strong call to action actually will convert better than copy without it. Last but not the least; use words that are in reference to the demographic you’re targeting. What you need to understand is that the difference with Facebook is one of medium, and the principles of classified ads and ad copy are still the same. If you work on learning how to write ad copy, then you’ll be in a much better position at Facebook.

Don’t forget to utilize keywords to get the most benefit from your campaign. If you are going to only target via demographics, then your aim is too general. It is only effective when everyone wants your product or you are not able to target specific keywords because your audience is too broad. But if this is not true, then you should target the keywords because when your ads are relevant, they have a way of getting high click through rates, when will create higher conversions. Search engines such as Google have their own formulas for testing the relevance of ads and providing your website with a quality score.

Although Facebook does not have this type of system, it does have the same type of principles. It makes a lot of sense; stronger results are the result of relevance.

In conclusion, like any other advertising system, even Facebook is evolving. But the plus point right now is that it’s still in the early stages, which means it has a lot of potential.

Using video as a marketing tool makes sense these days, as the there are more videos online than ever before. Given below are a few effective video marketing tips that you can use now.

Be sure you have a channel at Youtube, and remember it’s important to keep it updated with fresh content (videos) so you can cast a wider net. Also set up an account with Google Videos for broader coverage. Many Internet marketers only focus on individual videos to get traffic to their site, but if you actually look deeper you’ll understand the importance of growing your channel. There are some skilled video marketers who have driven immense amounts of traffic to their sites with video. What you want to achieve are lots of subscribers to your video channels, and you can build a base of fans about your subject. You can do a lot to establish trust and credibility in your market if you put out good content.

Many sharing sites give you the option of using a thumbnail to promote your video.

Many people forget how effective an eye catching thumbnail can be. Using a thumbnail provides the opportunity to catch viewers interest right away and entice them into watching your video. So try and take advantage of this small feature and make it work for you. Choose a thumbnail that is eye catching and appeals to a specific market. It should entice the viewer into watching the video as well as conveying the purpose of it.

You should also remember to submit your RSS feed to a number of directories to make them available to more viewers. This would allow you to gain more exposure for your videos since there are many people who use an RSS directory to search for relevant feeds and subscribe to them. Having a growing number of subscribers by making use of RSS can be a great way to have your videos reach more people.

Video marketing is the new wave of internet marketing, the videos are getting a great response and are easily accessible.

Promoting your products or services through Twitter has become a lot more common lately but if you want to make sure that you do it right you need to ensure that you avoid very common mistakes that can kill your efforts.

Having a real picture of yourself in your profile is an important gesture, and many marketers make the mistake of not realizing this. Having a picture of yourself on your profile tells the world that you aren’t afraid to show yourself to people. Your picture is also an important way for people to identify you so your face becomes familiar to them.

It’s an easy way to help your Twitter campaign, so you may as well do it. One thing you should not do is post promotional pictures for your product or company, as this is not the kind of image you want on Twitter. Twitter users are tired of all the spam, so you should go out of your way to be up front and ethical. You’ve overcome much of your struggle if you can just get people on Twitter to trust you.

This may not sound that significant, but it actually has a lot to do with the results you can expect. You also don’t want to make the mistake of limiting the scope of your tweets by neglecting to have your followers send your tweets to others. As long as you take the time to create interesting tweets, you may as well make the most of your followers and ask them to circulate them to more people. Being shy in this area won’t pay, so you will have to be upfront.

Taking this simple step will help you get the word out about your product on a larger scale. The objective on Twitter is to get as much attention as possible, and your own followers can make this easier for you. You have nothing to lose by asking. Most people like being asked to help, and your followers will have a higher opinion of you because you approached them in an honest way about it.

It is true that marketing on Twitter can be quite profitable but it is also true that, before you begin your campaign, you understand some key concepts. Putting your company name or product name into your Twitter username is a big mistake. You should use your own name on Twitter so that people have an easier time connecting with you.

You do not need to make yourself look like a sales person; only like someone who likes to help others. Even when you are choosing your profile picture it is better to choose a photo that is of you and that does not have anything to do with your product. The goal is to look as genuine as you possibly can without letting your marketing efforts devolve into just another pitch for a product.

In summary, marketing on Twitter can lead you to many simple mistakes that can be otherwise avoided. In order to stay away from them, you have to put in the effort to do your homework before you actually jump into it.

The internet is alway evolving, and one thing that’s changed is how the search engines rank websites. If you look back in the past, in order to get your website ranked for your chosen keyword, all you had to do was place Meta tags on your pages and that’s it. This did not always create the best search results, however, so the search engines started paying less attention to meta tags. The way things stand now, these tags are only of minor significance.

The search engines today know exactly what they are looking for and don’t tolerate much departure from this. Getting relevant backlinks to your site should be one of your main considerations if you are trying to get your site well ranked by the search engines. The number of backlinks your site has, as well as their quality, is now the most important consideration search engines such as Google use when ranking your site. We will now look at some link building tips that you can use to improve your site’s search engine rank.

One of the elements that many webmasters ignore when building links is the content on their site. Building links is important, but having quality content on your site is even more essential. If you want to get the most out of your backlinks, make sure you have relevant and unique content on your site. You might be able to get search engine traffic, but if your visitors have no reason to stay there, it still won’t be enough. Apart from that, the search engines won’t really give much importance to those links that point to bad content. It’s also important that the sites you are getting backlinks from are in your niche and have good content themselves. If you have links from many sites that have nothing to do with your topic, they won’t count for much in the search engines’ calculations.

If you want another good link building tactic, you should take advantage of social bookmarking sites. Social bookmarking sites are very popular and frequently updated, because they have regular users who are always surfing them looking to find a bookmark that interests them. The search engines prefer sites with lots of unique and fresh content, which is why they like social bookmarking sites. Submitting your link on these social bookmarking services will give you an added advantage of having a backlink from an authority site. The search engines also pay close attention to sites such as Reddit and Digg, where links are voted on, so you should also submit your links to these sites.

Another somewhat underused method is to conduct contests because if you promote the contest you can get highly targeted anchor text links that are one-way back to your website or blog. There is one possibility that you could get an unnatural amount of links back to your site all with the same anchor text.

Before you actually begin your linking campaigns, it might be best to plan ahead and stay organized. Knowledge plus taking appropriate action is what will make the difference in your success.

With the economic crisis at peak these days, you read every day people getting fired from jobs, fresh grads not finding the job of their dreams. Even in this chaos with the whole world going virtual there are jobs like graphics designers which are high-in demand even in days of global economic distress. Since graphics designers help in branding a company and help in creating a web presence, they are high in demand and usually the jobs with such responsibilities are highly paid. For graphic design Sheffield, you can find many companies advertising graphics designs services and jobs.

The question to ponder is what types of skills do you need as a graphics designer to be hired for a company? You can start by going to a graphics designer school or doing a course. In the world of today, it may not be necessary to have a proper degree as you can find a vast amount of resources on teaching yourself on your own.

Having a proper degree grooms you and provides you insight which can only be learned from a teacher. It also helps in you in learning the theory, how users perceive colors and the importance of right type of branding.

If you want to be a good graphics designer, stay up to date with the latest research and tools used in improving graphics design. If you do not read latest researches and are not aware of using the latest tools, then you cannot stay in the business for long. Also, reading research will let you create great designs and use all the “in” things while creating your design.

A graphics designer needs a lot of perception and ability to create design on his own. These days several graphics designers are advertising themselves online by creating portfolio websites and adding the projects that they have done. It is a great way to market yourself and present yourself when you go for an interview.

A lot of graphics designers are working from home and earning money from home using internet.

So, if you don’t get a job, you don’t need to despair because there are a lot of websites offering home based jobs including graphics design. There are also a lot of internet scams who hire a designer, get the required work out of them and then don’t pay them. So be careful while searching for a job online.

In terms of graphic design in Sheffield, you can find some really good positions if you are looking for a job in these days of economic crisis. The best idea is to have and advertise the skills that you have as a graphics designer as widely as possible. It is very important to have an online portfolio but whichever area you find a job in, graphics designers need the eye for observing and creating eye catching websites, brochures, advertisements and if you have skills as an SEO expert and incorporate it into your design, you probably would be the first choice candidate for any company.

A Copywriter Helps Your Internet Business Get On The Fast Track

A whole new industry has emerged as internet businesses become hungrier for new material for their websites and this industry is web copywriting services. As searchers become more savvy to using the search engines for finding local goods and services business owners also are becoming increasingly aware of need for content writers capable of both understanding the business sales message, and understanding what text will be most effective to gain good web rankings.

Seo copywriting professionals supply a specialised knowledge that is unique to the Internet. Seo Copywriting is not simply about writing professional website content, but the copywriter also needs to get into the minds of the target market and understand the types of search words and phrases that a potential customer may be using to search for particular goods and services.

Have a good look at your own website and ask yourself an honest question, is your web copy only speaking to knowledgeable experts or is it using language that customers will be looking for. Just because you understand what is written on your website don’t make the same mistakes as thousands of other websites do and assume your web copy is appealing!

Hiring a copywriting professional to work with on your website with you is often a recipe for success and has been proven to improve website rankings and capturing new customers for your business.

Initial SEO consultancy and website planning are highly important aspects that combine to affect both your web design and your websites chance of a good placement in the search engines.

Without any fear of contradiction the best time to optimise your website and define the requirements of your web marketing strategy is prior to the launch of your new website.

This ensure that your website gives the best first message to the search engines about the services and offerings that your business provides, and in addition to this it also ensures that your web site is indexed correctly for the search terms your customers are actually using.

Initial SEO consultancy and web strategy planning will enable your web designer to accurately define the content and navigation structure that will be essential to ensure success for your website from both an initial on page search engine optimisation perspective and also for your web marketing gong forward.

Pre-web design SEO should include at a minimum

Initial Consultancy to establish the success criteria for your site and other business aspects for example:

Research including a competitive analysis of any web based competition, defining a content and growth strategy and keyword research.

Defining a web marketing strategy in order to maximise the success of your website in the shortest possible time frame.

Of course web marketing planning and initial website optimisation can always be left until a later period, but you do need to be aware that without it you are holding back the potential of your website from the day it goes lives.

If your web design company offers SEO consultancy as part of their services try and view it as “best advice” and possibly the most important ingredient to your websites initial and later success.

In reality though, the development process to have the best outcome should be a collaborative partnership between the design company and the business due to many factors. Also the larger the business and the more departments the greater the collaboration should be as in most cases each departments “presence” on the website will have different goals and it is only right and proper that the website represent the business as a whole.

Here’s a great article that sums thing up nicely from Davo Judge

Get The Website Design You Want By Communicating Your Needs

Get The Website Design You Want By Communicating Your Needs Expecting a web design company to come up with a stunning website for you without much input is foolhardy. The fact is, if you want to get the most out of the site that is designed for you, you need to do your own part as well.
Having some concrete ideas about what you expect can help enormously.

Having a vision of the end result -

When you approach a design firm to build your site, you should have a clear vision of what you want. The more details you give, the better the project will be. This means three things. First, do some research and find web sites that you believe are both visually appealing and functional. Share these sites with your design firm.
Secondly, give them as much information as you can about your target audience.

A professional web design firm will be able to take this information and produce a product that looks good visually and meets your target audience’s needs. The third thing is a site map. This is an outline of the content that you need to have in your Web site.

Assistance is always available -

The domain name of your site needs to be chosen by you.
Your design firm can certainly assist you with direction, but when it comes right down to it, the final decision is yours. The same can be said of proofing and copyediting. A good design firm should have this service available, but ultimately, what goes out on your web site is your responsibility.

Considering logos and graphics for your new site -

New graphics and logos are also different matters. If your company does not currently have a logo, then the process of acquiring one will have to become a separate project to the web build. In the event you require additional design of logos and images, be prepared that this generally is a separate project and additional fees will apply.

Content for your new website -

As the business owner, you know your business better than anyone. For this reason alone you are the best person at making the decision of what content and forms need to be placed on your Web site. Secondly, you will need to consider whether updating the site’s content is something that you would like the web firm to complete on your behalf, or whether this is a task that will be completed in-house.

If you are considering an eCommerce design for your new site, then you will also need to let your web company know what secure processes, such as a shopping cart system or transactions to a secure server or PayPal, need to be implemented into the site. You should also provide photos and copy; however, the design firm can also assist you in providing copy and sourcing photos, if necessary. One thing to be aware of is that you must have an authority to use photos on your website. These can simply be purchased online at a low cost.

The development of your new site -

Once your design firm has this information, they can begin.
They should provide a brief and a mock-up of the overall design of the site. As the client, you can either approve or reject these ideas, but keep this in mind: once you’ve approved the brief and chosen a design, any changes to the design or overall Web site will incur extra fees.

Moving forward -

When your web firm begins working with you, their account manager can help you with a lot of these processes.
However, much of what needs to be provided for the web site is your responsibility. You should also be aware of what is not provided with the web site such as monthly hosting. If the hosting of your website is handled by the web company, it will be billed separately, think of it as a monthly service fee you pay for the use of your mobile phone. The web site is like the phone; the hosting is like the service plan. Both are necessary, but separately priced.

If you go into the site development process knowing what is needed and what your part is, it will result in a great product that makes both you and your customers very happy.

—————————————————-
Many people think eCommerce design is something a company can handle for them 100%. The them at The team at WKWD (http://www.wkwd.com.au/ ) believe that the truth is, even the most experienced professional web design agency requires input from their customers in order to arrive at an acceptable solution.

Every product and service that’s out there today needs some kind of advertising. It doesn’t matter how good your widget is and how many years you’ve put into its research and development, if no one knows that it’s on the market then you simply won’t sell many or any for that matter.

Ultimately you will need a marketing plan strategy and some of the most successful plans recently have adopted this kind of brand development.

Corporate branding is where a firm will use their company name as a brand name to further create a business identity in the public eye. One example of this technique is the work that’s done in advertising by companies like IBM and Disney.

From the outset it’s essential that you have a plan to develop this strategy and these types of branding strategies generally have four components that make up the plan as a whole.

Identify Your Target Market

Before you can properly use the corporate branding method you need to identify who you’re trying to sell these goods or services too. Especially in the world of Internet business where the audience for your marketing is vast, business owners make the initial mistake of casting the net too wide. It’s essential that your primary target customer is identified. If you’re trying to sell hip hop shirts, you don’t want to target a demographic that prefers classical music.

Know The Competition

After that you’ll need to have a good look at the competition in your market. An important part of brand development is having a unique approach that’s different from your competition. You need to study what the other people in your industry are doing so that you can have a distinct public image. A big part of corporate branding is staying away from anything hackneyed that the industry you’re in has tried before.

Establish the Right Mix

You need to have a good look at you product/service mix as well. This will include the four basics of this feature.

Price

Presentation

Place

Promotion

Create a Unique Selling Proposition

Finally you need to create a unique selling proposition (USP). As the name suggests, this needs to be an element that will be distinct from all the competition’s claims. When you’ve fused these elements together, you’ll be able to see the direction that your corporate branding should take.

Remember here that the entire corporate branding process is all about the methods that you use to forge a unique identity. Especially in the world of Internet business, you need to be sure that the voice of your business gets heard above the din that is competition on the web and that’s the reason that you need to be sure that you carefully work through the process.

What you come out with on the other side of the corporate branding process needs to be not only a solid representation of what your company can provide, but how they can accomplish that goal in a manner that’s different from the competition. Equally you need to ensure that your brand identity flows through and is recognizable in your web design, the graphic design of your corporate documentation and of course product packaging.

Ain’t life strange? Why is it sometimes despite the fact that you are trying to give your customer best advice they simply will not listen, or think you are perhaps trying to stretch the budget and get them to spend more. Website optimisation and search engine marketing are typical of this problem.

The SEO guys give us a bashing claiming that we don’t always act in the best interests of clients and we should be pushing their services more, and often when you offer up sound advice to your clients many ignore it and seem to think that if you build it they will come (great film and a Costner classic).

Its little wonder that many web design firms don’t even begin to discuss the critical aspects of search engine friendly design or on going website marketing but the reality of it is every company should be doing it. But therein in lies a problem, if everybody was doing it how would you get everyone on the first page of Google?

So I guess that best practice and sound economics will come into play. Always advise the client of the importance of this aspect of web design but if they are clearly not interested back off and concentrate on winning the graphic design or website design business.

What’s your view?

The wonderful thing about the internet and the World Wide Web is the sheer diversity of resources that you can find but only if you know where to look. Some businesses hate the freedom of information that the internet brings especially those that earn a living on the back of that old saying “the money is in the mystery”.

Now days if you have the time and the patience to go hunting (and you know what you are looking for which always helps) you can pretty much find just about anything (We’ve included a few in our resource section on the right)

The web is also useful to get the creative juices flowing, client can scour around finding designs and schemes that they find appealing and would like to incorporate into their corporate brochures or website, but equally the web can be a rich source of inspiration for many design professionals as well.

We are not talking about blatant copies or derivatives of other peoples work because we all know that is illegal. What I’m talking about is finding those seeds that send your creative thoughts down a track that perhaps you had not explored before.

Ideas for creative designs are all around us and it would be very interesting to find out what gets your juices flowing or where you find inspiration when you just can’t seem to come up with the right idea.

Feel free to leave a comment about what works for you or examples of inspiring design.

Is choosing the right colour for your website important or should you just go with something that appeals to the boss?

Choosing the right colour scheme for your website or for your corporate brand identity is far more important than a lot of people realise. We all have our favourite colours and while some people prefer strong vibrant colour schemes others prefer more subtle pastel shades but the point not to be missed here is your corporate image should not be about the colours schemes you like best because your not buying your own products or services.

Different colours appeal to different market sectors and while one colour may induce a warm buying feeling for your potential customer choosing the wrong one could leave you with lots of visitors but no sales, so getting this balance right for your market demographic is highly important, and one that is often missed by companies creating there own branding in-house.

What’s the best (or worse) colour scheme you have seen on a website? If you would like to share leave a comment.

What’s the single most important aspect of web design, aesthetics or SEO? This is a question that will raise a lively debate but the answer you give will be heavily weighed by the job you do.

A graphic designer who specialises in visual design will suggest in many of cases that the website design is by far and away most important of course. And let’s be honest without that visually appealing to the eye design a searcher will leave your site within the blink of an eye or so they have you think. But then that raises the big question of how did they find your site in the first instance?

The basic web design criteria or curve goes along the lines of initial design is presented ..website design looks excellent and is given the go ahead. We need some content ok, we’ll rustle something up…..website goes live and time passes but no visitors!

And then even more time passes by until eventually perhaps months and sometimes years later the situation is either so dire or the company are having to invest in adwords that finally website promotion firm gets called in (or somebody gets intrigued by one of those SEO e-mails that seem to hound webmasters these days), and before you know it you are on a 6 month search engine marketing campaign to try and achieve some search engine results.

Is this the fast road to success? The thousands of website owners that have followed this exact or similar path will certainly argue that it most definitely is not as this hope for the best web development criteria delays any websites success by unacceptable periods of time, and even more frightening results in thousands in lost profit, turnover and ongoing prospect capture.

In reality the search engines paid no heed to the visual aspects of web design but with minimal attention to search engine optimisation so often this first opportunity to make an impact when the web site first gets indexed is totally lost, if all the search engines find is a poorly optimised site with no regard paid to any SEM requirements or keyword capture.

Extra time and money spent on pre development SEO ,for example keyword research and optimisation gives an outstanding return on investment as invariably when the site goes live and gets indexed it will achieve a far better search engine position from the outset and it has been known for pre-optimised websites to hit a page one result straight away.

What’s your view???
